In this task now we had to use the annotations and drawings from the previous work to help illustrate my magazine for the digital draft work. We had to use Photoshop CS6 to help organise and construct it properly. Ensuring that all elements are balanced in terms of composition, no text is placed over the subjects face, spacing around columns and images is consistent, columns are the same size and the masthead and coverlines are bold, bright and engaging.
In this section using the template provided we, I was required to draw two Front Cover designs, two Contents Page designs and two Double Page Spread designs. Including a variety of ideas for my pages layouts and structures: a number of columns & images on contents and double pages, a masthead design (possible logo), character position/composition, possible costume/props, colour scheme and positioning of conventions - this however is representing my choosen genre and what is usually consisted in the magazines.
In this task we was instructed to collect information from the surveys we created so we would be able to know what our intended audience wanted to see in the magazine I'll be later creating. In order to make an effective music magazine, this is done through audience research. I was required to pitch a set of questions (all supported with visuals) to my key demographic in order to find out what they would want from your music magazine. This will included layout, style, colour, image choice etc. Once I have gathered some feedback, I had to show evidence on my website and evaluate my findings.
The main purpose of the textual analysis task was to discuss the connotations to each element contained in images that are around all magazines, with all points being linked back to the musical genre. I used the key terminology to help specify the aspects of these magazines and how it helps attract different audiences.
In this section of textual analysis, I analysed a total of 3 magazine pages,1 front covers, 1 are double page and 1 contents page, in which I further explored the key aspects of a magazines and what I visually see and the possible meaning behind the design choices, the pages i choose all linked to my chosen genre.
A video task was a way to express why and how we put our website together.
In today's task we was assessed on our capability when using other platforms to create surveys to help get a gesture of what young people would want to see in my magazine. However, creating 20 questions wasn't all easy as you had to make sure the questions which were being given to my targeted audience weren't to vague, not too bias and being able to apply all there needs so that all consumers were comfortable and enjoying the magazine. The questions I used helped to balance out the magazine whilst including boys and what they may find interesting- these days you don't usually see a lot of male and female mixture magazine and that's my entire view, I didn't want my magazine to have a specific gender as i want to it to apply to everyone.
Today I started to upload my contents page and front page to start to personalise my website with my unique way of editing. Also, I reordered my segments as they were miss ordered.
In this task I focused on creating my own college magazine. I had construct a front page and contents page to show a type of ''School Life'' magazine that would be read in colleges - for help used other magazines to give me inspiration on what is usually consisted in them.
